Bologna 
 Transportation in and around Bologna, Italy is a fairly easy process. Most of the main attractions in the city are within walking distance from each other, and if you visit Italy during the spring or fall, walking around the city is a favored pastime. If you prefer not to walk to your destinations, there are taxis for hire in Bologna. Taxis can be hailed from the streets, and you can sometimes find them parked in various places, just waiting for riders. You can also call the taxi company and they will come to wherever you are. However, if you take taxis frequently, it can prove to be very expensive. You may be charged an extra fee for late night charges or excessive luggage, so be sure and ask about the meter fees and what is included. For safety reasons, it is best to only use official Bologna taxis. You will know these from the taxi sign and the numbered shield on the car’s side. 

 Buses are also used to travel in and around Bologna. Bus transportation is a more inexpensive way to get around the city. Bologna’s bus station is at the Azienda trasporti Comunali at Piazza XX Settembre. There are buses that run each hour for various destinations. Tickets for bus transportation can be bought at various booths and tobacconists throughout the city. You can also purchase a CityPass, which is a book of eight tickets, and is fairly less expensive than purchases tickets one at a time.

 Air travel is frequent in and out of Bologna. The Bologna Airport is an international service. In addition, the ACT Aerobus runs from the airport into the city, and has a train that leaves every 15 to 20 minutes until midnight each night. 
 Train travel is also a popular transportation method in Bologna. Bologna is one of the main connections on the FS Rail Network. You can book a train traveling to Florence, Milan, Ravenna, Rimini, and Venice, among other various destinations throughout Italy. The Stazione Centrale is located in the Piazza Medaglie d`Oro.
