| Ravenna, Italy
is located on a low lying plain in the Emilia-Romagna region, to the left
of the Rivers Montone and Ronco. The Corsinis Canal, which was constructed
in 1736, connects Ravenna with Porto Corsini on the Adriatic Sea.
The city is actually inland, but is connected by a canal to the Adriatic
Sea. Ravenna served as the capital of the Western Roman Empire from
402 A.D., as well as the Visigoth Empire from 473 A.D. Italys ancient
culture and heritage have been marvelously preserved in the beautiful city
of Ravenna. There are many historical churches, basilicas, museums,

of the old world culture of the city. The World Heritage list includes

of Galla Placidia, The Arian Baptistry, and the Archiepiscopal Chapel.

of Italian history. Ravenna is recognized worldwide for its mosaics,
due to the fact that it has the riches heritage of 5th and 6th century
mosaics in the world. Ravennas coast winds between the beautiful
Adriatic Sea and magnificent pinewoods. Clean beaches and beautiful landscapes
