Restaurants
Dining in Rome offers many choices of fine Italian cuisine, and locally prepared dishes. Some of the finest restaurants in the world are located in Rome. According to local Romans, these are the very most popular dining choices. If you are visiting Rome, be sure to check out at least one of these restaurants.

The Rivadestra offers classic Roman dishes, as well as southern Italian delicacies. You will find a wide variety of international and domestic wines and a menu suited perfectly for lovers of fish, meats and locally grown vegetables. The locally favorite millefoglie, a light puff pastry filled with cream and almonds, is a must for dessert. The Rivadestra is slightly more expensive than other restaurants, but very well worth it for the savory dishes that they prepare.

Maccheroni is located at Piazza delle Coppelle and has, over the years, maintained the beautiful rustic details of its structure. Maccheroni offers a warm atmosphere and traditionally prepared Roman cuisine, as well as some of the best regional Italian dishes.

Reservations are required for dining at the Antico Arco, but it is well worth the time that it takes to phone them. One of the most popular dishes is risotto with Castelmagno cheese, followed by dusk breast in raspberry sauce. The Antico Arco offers authentic Italian cuisine in a warm and family oriented atmosphere.

While you are making your way around Rome, be sure to check out the alleyways so that you don’t miss the Convivio. This restaurant is located in the alley at Via dei Soldati 31. It is owned by the Troiani brothers and specialities include lamb roll stuffed with her fritters and a wonderful seafood salad that combines squid, mussels, clams, whitefish, and prawns. Reservations are required at the Convivio also.

The Pizzeria de Baffeto is home to two of the most popular inexpensive dining spots in Rome. You can feast on authentic Italian style pizzas, even on a budget. The sizes of the pizzas prepared by Baffeto are overwhelming and can easily feed a large family.

The Montecarlo is a Roman Pizzeria that was originally a part of the Baffeto. Now serving its own menu, the Montecarlo offers wonderful pizzas and wine in a warm, family oriented atmosphere.

The Enoteca Ferrara offers dining with an Italian styled kitchen, prestigious wine cart, grappe, and many other fine Italian cuisines. They also offer a wide selection of various coffees and teas. In a warm and friendly atmosphere, the cuisine at the Enoteca Ferrara tastes even better.

If salad is your meal of choice, then the Insalata Ricca is a wonderful dining place. Dishes here range from insalata con gamberetti, which consists of prawns, mushrooms, rocket and radicchio, to insalata di fungi with parmesan, mushrooms and rocket. There is also the insalata Contadina with feta cheese, olives, almonds, tomatoes and lettuce. This is one of the few restaurants that offer such creative salads.

No matter where you choose to dine, you will find the tastes of Rome are unsurpassed. Splendidly prepared local cuisine and a fine collection of wines are at the heart of the Roman eateries. The problem is deciding which to enjoy first.
