Shopping
While you are visiting Rome, you will undoubtedly be tempted to shop. Shopping in Rome gives you access to the most famous Italian fashion designers, old world antiques, and flea markets galore. The most famous streets in Rome for fashion shopping meet at the Via del Corso. The three streets, Via Condotti, via Borgognona, and Via Frattina all meet with the Via del Corso, to form a fashion parallel where you can find famous designers like Fendi, Cartier, Ferragamo, Herme`s, Gai Mattiolo, and many, many more. On the via Frattina, you can find Tiffany, Versace and Byblos, among many other elite designers. Some addresses for fine Italian fashion shopping in Rome are:

Armani - Via dei Condotti 77
Gucci - Via dei Condotti 8
Hermes - Via dei Condotti 67
Prada - Via dei Condotti 92
Valentino - Via dei Condotti 13, Via Bocca di Leone 15
Versace - Via Borgognona 24/25, Via Bocca di Leone 26/27

If you aren’t into fashion shopping, then perhaps you would like to browse through traditional Roman Craftsmen shops. In Via dei Cappelari and Via dei Sediari, youcan see chairs and other furnishings that have been handcrafted for hundreds of years. Also, at Via Santa Dorotea are vases and other fine ceramics. You can also find many antique shops, restoring shops, and places for any other household item that you can think of.

Flea markets are very popular throughout Rome. Two of the most popular are Porta Portese and Mercato delle Stampe. The Porta Portese holds mementos from World War II, clothing, books, and just about anything else that you would expect to find in a flea market. The Mercato delle Stampe specializes in old magazines and books. Used clothing can also be found at the Via Sannio market.

Supermarkets and shopping malls are very commonly found in Rome, however, to sample the locally grown fruits and vegetables is a wonderful way to spend a day. You can visit the Castroni to find vinegars, truffles, and local olive oil. The Trimani has an excellent selection of fine Italian wines
