Getting to Trieste
is fairly simple. You can simply take the A4 from Venice to the
SS14 Costiera. Trieste is 24 km from the motorway. Transportation
in and around Trieste is fairly easy as well.
Local public transportation
for Trieste is operated by the Trieste Transporti.
There are around 60 buse routes and two boat services that offer transportation
in and around the city. The Opicina Tramway is also operated by Trieste
Transporti and provides a connection through the tramway and funicular
railway to the city’s centre and the Villa Opicina.
Trieste is serviced
by the Friuli Venezia Giulia Airport, located at Ronchi near Monfalcone
at the head of the Gulf of Trieste. Flights from Milan, Rome,
and Genova are offered, as well as international flights via Milan
and Rome. There are also direct flights available from Munich, London,
and Belgrado.
Taxi transports are
also available in Trieste, just be sure to
find out what fees are included in the meter fare. For instance, some taxi
services will charge an extra fee for luggage and bags.
